How to use Upscale Image

- Choose the scale and sharpening.
- Download the larger image.
Common uses
- Enlarging small images for print or banners.
- Making thumbnails larger.
- Preparing images for high-resolution screens.
About this tool
Enlarge an image by 2×, 3× or 4× using stepwise high-quality interpolation, with an optional light sharpening filter. This is classic resampling rather than AI super-resolution, so results are cleaner than simple stretching but not new detail.
Worked example
Doubling a 800 × 600 image gives 1600 × 1200. Upscaling uses smooth interpolation and optional sharpening: it makes the image larger but cannot recover detail that was never there.
Common problems and fixes
- The result looks soft.
- Add sharpening, but keep it light to avoid halos around edges.
- Faces look artificial.
- Classic upscaling does not reconstruct detail like AI methods. Start from the largest original you have.
- Very large output fails.
- Browsers limit canvas size. Use a smaller scale on older phones.

Frequently asked questions
Is this AI upscaling?
No. It uses high-quality smooth resampling with light sharpening. It enlarges the image but cannot invent real detail.
What is the size limit?
Output is limited to about 50 megapixels.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs inside your browser on your own device, so your files and text are never sent anywhere.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how often you use it.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Very large files may be slow on older phones.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, most tools keep working without a connection, because processing happens on your device.
